Gerto Thrapsathiri, Sitia, Crete, 2023 PGI Organic

Gerto captures the wild, exotic essence of East Crete, where nature's elements shape the land and its vines. Named after the trees that bend to the wind and intense drought, this wine reflects the resilience of the region. Produced by the Toplou Monastery, Gerto is crafted from the revived local Thrapsathiri grape, organically cultivated on a windswept hill near the monastery.

Gerto enchants with aromas of exotic fruits like melon, pineapple, and mango, enhanced by hints of jasmine and herbs. The wine offers a medium body, balanced acidity, and a long, satisfying aftertaste with notes of peach and citrus.
