Set in Raxa, Trikala, against the extraordinary landscape of Meteora and close to the prehistoric Cave of Theopetra, Theopetra Estate is the wine-producing estate of the Tsililis family. The family's winery-distillery was established in 1989, with Theopetra Estate created in 1996 to showcase the character of this distinctive part of Thessaly and its grape varieties.
The estate's vineyards extend around the Meteora rocks and the Cave of Theopetra, an area where dramatic geology, continental conditions and a long history of vine cultivation come together. Theopetra Estate works with indigenous Greek varieties including Assyrtiko, Xinomavro and Limniona, alongside selected international varieties, combining the identity of the region with modern winemaking.
Among the estate's wines is Aprilis, a range of Greek sparkling wines inspired by spring and named after April, the month in which they are bottled. The Aprilis Sparkling White brings together Assyrtiko and Xinomavro, while the Aprilis Sparkling Rosé combines Xinomavro and Limniona. Both are produced using the Charmat method, offering a contemporary sparkling expression of Greek grape varieties.
